Proton e.MAS 5
The e.MAS 5 is a compact electric SUV, 4,135 mm long on a 2,650 mm wheelbase, with a 375-litre boot, a 70-litre front boot and rear-wheel drive. Both versions use a CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and have a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, rear air vents, six airbags and vehicle-to-load (V2L) power for plugging in appliances. Both charge from 30% to 80% in 21 minutes on a fast charger, and at up to 6.6 kW on AC.
e.MAS 5 Prime: a 30.12 kWh battery for 225 km of WLTP range, a 58 kW and 130 Nm motor, DC charging at up to 53 kW and 15-inch wheels.
e.MAS 5 Premium: a 40.16 kWh battery for 325 km of WLTP range, an 85 kW and 150 Nm motor, DC charging at up to 71 kW and 16-inch wheels, plus LED headlamps, a power tailgate, a dual-tone roof, six speakers instead of four, a 360-degree camera and the full driver assistance suite.
Proton e.MAS 7
The e.MAS 7 is a mid-size electric SUV, 4,615 mm long on a 2,750 mm wheelbase, with a 461-litre boot that grows to 1,877 litres with the rear seats folded. Both versions have a 160 kW and 320 Nm motor, a 175 km/h top speed, a panoramic sunroof, a 15.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 driver assistance suite including adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. Both charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes on a fast charger, at up to 11 kW on AC, and support vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging.
e.MAS 7 Prime: a 49.52 kWh battery for 345 km of WLTP range, DC charging at up to 80 kW, 18-inch wheels, and 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
e.MAS 7 Premium: a 60.22 kWh battery for 410 km of WLTP range, DC charging at up to 100 kW and 19-inch wheels, plus a head-up display, ventilated front seats, a 16-speaker Flyme sound system with headrest speakers, 256-colour ambient lighting, a power tailgate, a driver's seat with memory and front parking sensors. It reaches 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
The Premium is the slower of the two e.MAS 7 versions despite sharing the same motor, because its bigger battery adds about 100 kg.
The catch: the e.MAS 5 Prime has no automatic emergency braking
The e.MAS 5 Prime keeps blind-spot detection, lane change warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning and door opening warning, but it does without the forward-facing safety systems. Autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition are fitted to the e.MAS 5 Premium only, along with the 360-degree camera. Every e.MAS 7, by contrast, has the full set. If the e.MAS 5 is on your list, the gap between Prime and Premium covers more than range and wheel size, so it is worth knowing the price difference before deciding whether the Prime's savings are worth giving up automatic braking.
Warranty
Every Proton e.MAS comes with a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.

PMV Brunei 2026: the official dealer price list
The latest edition is the "PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLES (PMV) PRICES ISSUED BY CAR DEALERS AS OF 20TH AUGUST 2026", a list issued every quarter. Each figure is a ceiling, not the price you will pay: it is set high enough to cover that model and trim with nearly every available option, and banks use it as the upper limit for car loans, so showroom prices usually sit below it. The list can also lag the showroom as new models arrive and others are discontinued. Our full guide to reading the PMV Brunei 2026 list explains what to check before relying on any figure in it.
