Hyundai Grand i10 in Brunei: Price, Versions and the New Auto Base
The Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback, also known as the Grand i10 Nios, is sold in Brunei in three versions: the 1.0 Manual at B$12,450, the new 1.2 Auto Base at B$12,999 and the 1.2 GL Auto at B$16,767, all on-the-road (OTR). The Auto Base puts an automatic gearbox and the bigger 1.2 litre engine within B$549 of the cheapest version. Every Grand i10 is sold through Setia Motors, Hyundai's dealer in Brunei, with a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty.

The car

The Grand i10 is a five-door, five-seat city hatchback, 3,815 mm long, with a 260-litre boot that grows to 1,210 litres with the rear seats folded. The 1.0 Manual uses a 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine producing 66 PS, and both automatics use a 1.2 litre four-cylinder producing 83 PS and 114 Nm, per Hyundai's Brunei brochure. Every version has keyless entry, manual air conditioning with rear vents, and two airbags.

The new Auto Base: an automatic for B$549 more

The 1.2 Auto Base is the newest version of the Grand i10 in Brunei, promoted by Hyundai Brunei as its value option. It costs B$549 more than the 1.0 Manual and brings the 1.2 litre engine and an automatic gearbox, with a compact Bluetooth radio, a 2.8-inch instrument cluster and 14-inch wheels. At B$12,999 it is one of three automatic cars listed under B$13,000 in Brunei, alongside the Suzuki Alto 660cc VXL (AGS) and the Renault Kwid RXT, and the only one of the three with a four-cylinder engine.

The catch: the screen and camera cost B$3,768 more

The B$3,768 step from the Auto Base to the 1.2 GL Auto buys the equipment most buyers notice first. The GL Auto has an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, a 3.5-inch instrument cluster and 15-inch wheels, where the Auto Base has a compact radio with Bluetooth. Both share the same 1.2 litre engine, so the choice between them is about the cabin, not the drive.

The dealer

PMV Brunei 2026: the official dealer price list

The latest edition is the "PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLES (PMV) PRICES ISSUED BY CAR DEALERS AS OF 20TH AUGUST 2026", a list issued every quarter. Each figure is a ceiling, not the price you will pay: it is set high enough to cover that model and trim with nearly every available option, and banks use it as the upper limit for car loans, so showroom prices usually sit below it. The list can also lag the showroom as new models arrive and others are discontinued. Our full guide to reading the PMV Brunei 2026 list explains what to check before relying on any figure in it.
