The new-generation Toyota Hilux is now on sale in Brunei through NBT at B$54,200 on the road, with an early bird price of B$52,000 while the launch offer runs. Confirmed with NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd in August 2026.

What the new Hilux costs
The new Hilux 2.8 Auto Mid lists at B$54,200 on the road. While the early bird offer runs, the price drops to B$52,000, with terms and conditions applying. That early bird figure sits below the outgoing Hilux 2.4 automatic, which was listed at B$52,261, so for the duration of the offer you are paying less for a new-generation 2.8 diesel than the old 2.4 cost.
NBT has not published a closing date for the offer. If you are weighing it up, the number to weigh is the B$2,200 gap between the early bird price and the standard price, and the fact that it will not stay open indefinitely. You can work out your own monthly figures on the AutoPasar financing calculator.
One grade for Brunei, and what that means
The Brunei brochure lists three versions of the new Hilux: Auto Mid, Auto High and Manual Mid. NBT has confirmed that only the Auto Mid is coming to Brunei.
That matters because of how Toyota splits the equipment between grades. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the package that brings Pre-Collision System, Lane Tracing Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist and Lane Departure Alert, is fitted to the Auto High only. The same goes for the blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, the panoramic view monitor, the 18-inch wheels, rear ventilated disc brakes and the electronic parking brake.
The Auto Mid sold here does not have Toyota Safety Sense. It carries a strong conventional safety kit instead: 7 SRS airbags, ABS with brake assist and EBD, vehicle stability control with multi-terrain select, hill-start assist with downhill assist control, rear clearance sonar, a reversing camera and ISOFIX anchors. But if you have seen the new Hilux advertised with radar cruise control and lane assistance, be aware those features belong to a grade that is not offered in Brunei. Ask to see the spec sheet for the exact vehicle you are quoted before you book.
Engine and drivetrain
The Hilux 2.8 Auto Mid runs Toyota's 1GD-FTV, a 2755 cc four-cylinder turbodiesel with common rail direct injection, producing 201 hp between 3000 and 3400 rpm and 500 Nm from 1600 to 2800 rpm. It drives through a 6-speed automatic with S-mode and electronic 4WD control with a low-range transfer case, plus multi-terrain select and drive mode select. The output matches the outgoing Hilux 2.8, so the case for the new truck is not more power. It is the new platform, the cabin, and the price.
Dimensions and practicality
The new truck measures 5320 mm long, 1855 mm wide and 1815 mm tall on a 3085 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 312 mm, the turning radius is 6.3 m, and the fuel tank holds 80 litres. Kerb weight is 2095 to 2185 kg with a gross vehicle weight of 2950 kg. Suspension is double wishbone at the front with leaf springs at the rear, on 265/65R17 tyres with 17-inch alloys.
Inside the cabin
The dashboard carries an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display with 8 speakers, a 7-inch full colour multi-information display in the instrument binnacle, and a wireless charger. The driver's seat adjusts 6 ways and the passenger's 4 ways, and the rear bench gets headrests, a seatback pocket and USB Type-C charging ports. Smart entry, an auto retractable mirror function on the door mirrors, an overhead console and a deck step round out the equipment.
Exterior and colours
The front end carries the new hexagonal grille with LED projector headlamps and LED fog lights, with LED rear lamps at the back. Six colours are offered: Super White 2, Silver Metallic, Ash, Attitude Black Mica, Emotional Red II and Sulfur Metallic.
The catch
There is one, and it is the grade. The Auto Mid is the only version sold in Brunei, and it does not carry Toyota Safety Sense, the blind spot monitor or the surround-view camera that the new Hilux offers in other markets and on other grades in NBT's own brochure. If driver assistance features are high on your list, the Hilux as sold here does not have them, and no option to add them has been announced. Everything else about the launch is straightforward: one grade, one price, a published early bird offer.
The outgoing Hilux
NBT confirmed the outgoing Hilux 2.4 is down to its final run-out units, and once they are sold only the new generation will be available. The outgoing 2.8 automatic and manual are no longer offered. If you want the old truck at its Jul 2026 price of B$52,261, the window is closing, but at B$52,000 the new one costs less while the early bird offer runs.
